Introduction to Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology
Not Offered for 2007-08
Introduction to diagnostic radiology is a survey course offering the student
an introduction to the specialty of radiology and its significance in the
diagnosis and management of disease. The course is not intended to make
students competent in film interpretation, but rather to give an overview
of the field and its application in medical practice. The course consists
of didactic lectures covering general diagnostic, as well as the subspecialty
areas of pediatric radiology, C.T., ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and magnetic
resonance imaging. Students are allowed to witness film interpretation
sessions and observe radiographic procedures. Each lecture is complimented
by one hour of programed x-ray teaching files. Students may take
a written examination at the end of the course.
